Summer Vacation at Taipei 2023

I never got around to document the summer vacation in Taiwan, 2023. Here it is! When the kids were little, we always tried to avoid visiting Taiwan in the hot humid summer. Now that they’re all in elementary school. There’s just no better time than the two-month-school-free summer.  

What was special about this trip was that the kids and I flew on Korean Air the first time, which was the most terrible flying experience ever. They were absolutely NOT kids friendly. The rude, neglectful ground crew handled the full flight situation plain despiteful… Anyways, we stopped at Incheon International Airport for quite some hours and got some food and rested at the Priority Pass Lounge…

Finally arrived, my hometown:

I enrolled the kids for a week of ArtTogether Summer Camp. It took place in Taipei Technology University 國立台北科技大學 from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday. It was the first time little i was left alone in a completely unfamiliar classroom. She cried the first few days. The caregiver sent me a photo letting me know she put herself together once the time rolls.

The program had various subjects or interests to choose from. en picked a cooking class. We got to taste some hand-made dessert by en for a week.

el picked an art class; It was quite an experience but they made it clear that they did not want to join again.

I'm a little proud that they still prefer Mom to take them here and there:

This might be the last time to visit places like this. They looked so big in this children's play area.

Charles arrived two weeks later. We were recommended to take the elevator to the top floors (88F,89F,91F) of the most iconic building in Taiwan, Taipei 101. Surprising as it may seen, it was the first time for all of us, including me!
