2025.10.20 - 10.24 Sixth Grade Marine Biology Program, Catalina Island, California
At the end of en’s 5th grade school year, all the 5th graders in the school district received a flyer about the Catalina Island Marine Biology trip. Their 5th grade teachers would select students from their site to participate in this 5-day-4-night trip.
We took off for Banff, Canada at the beginning of the summer. When we returned home, it felt that there were still a lot to do:

話說2023年的加州公路之旅(Part I, Part II, Part III),我們在回程的路上放棄了最後一站- Pinnacles National Park,成立於2013年,是全美國家公園中最年輕的一座;今年感恩節假期我們把這站給補了回來
2023.10.14 San Diego Zoo Safari Park
October was here. I let the kids pick where they would like to go for Kids-Free San Diego: Sesame Place vs. Safari Park
October 14, 2023 was also the solar eclipse that could be visible in the west coast. We spent about 10 mins in the parking lot observing the partial eclipse. The park ranger also showed us how to observe solar eclipse through a piece of hole-punches paper. When the sunlight streamed through the paper, we could easily spotted the eclipse from the shadows on the ground.

"厄...以防萬一要用到的話..." 媽媽回
愛愛也沒有再追問下去,大夥整裝上車,開車得時間比以往上教會還久...
"怎麼這久啊~" 又是愛愛發聲
終於,在經過 Disneyland 的一些路牌下哥哥姊姊終於覺得奇怪了
"我們不是要去教會嗎?" 哥哥問
"我們要去不一樣的地方" 媽媽回答
等到車子轉進 Great Wolf Lodge “要去這裡的教會?” 哥哥始終轉不開上教會的念頭
"不是啦!我們要去 Spring Splash!" 樂樂讀著路邊的插牌說
這個二月,加州碰上了前所未有的暴風雨之冬,多處都下起了罕見的冰雹或雪片;上週日趁者上個暴雨團剛走,下個暴風團未到之際,排著車隊上山嘗雪~
今晚飄下小雨,結束了這波長達兩星期之久的熱浪攻擊… 繼主臥房半完工後一直沒有裝冷氣的打算,忍不住為自己和查理斯鼓鼓掌,竟然就這麼撐了過來!
The summer vacation has almost come to an end. One more week to go then the big brother and sister are returning to school life. So, what have we done for the summer?
I’ve been wanting to do this ever since we purchased Knott’s Berry Farm annual pass back in 2018: I would like a date with my husband, just the two of us, hopping on some thrill rides and enjoying food without interruption. Then the pandemic hit so on and so forth… Still and all, Knott’s was being so considerate and understanding that they extended the annual pass till May 2022!
San Diego is surely a magical place! We learned about “Kids Go Free October” last year. Apparently, February is the “Museum Month” in San Diego. There are 45+ museums in San Diego County that offer half off of the admission for the entire month of February. We picked The New Children’s Museum to explore the fun last weekend.
