Creating Family Yearbook

I’ve been so behind updating this little space of mine because recently, I’ve got myself into this new hobby: creating our family yearbook. Charles and I found that all those precious and gorgeous photos would be forever left behind in our computer’s drive if we don’t own them in some kind of physical format. We considered nowadays popular photo book at first, like shutterfly. After searching a couple more photo book makers, I found that the idea of Project Life is more appealing to me. What is Project Life?

The big game changer for my choice was how to keep everything in one place. I meant EVERYTHING, such as keepsakes, souvenir, plane tickets, holiday greeting cards, invitation...etc. As long as it is in paper form, I am able to fit in to my album! I have a box full of the above mentioned stuff that I never really reopen them twice. I really found some sentimental treasure when I put them together!

In addition, Project Life goes page by page. If I accidentally omit an event or a few cute photos, I can always go back and alter the pages. I can be as creative as I want!

I would say time consuming may be the major con for this project, especially I wanted to catch up from 2014. It requires a lot of planning and organization. I am also having trouble to find a good place to print my photos. Costco somehow auto corrected my setting and my own printer washed out my prints :( All in all, I still find it worthy of my time, especially when my kids and I sat together, browsed each page, asked questions, told them stories... I enjoy creating things in paper form! Through this process of building my very own family albums, I feel myself as a true memory keeper!
