She Shed

Today I want to reveal one half side of the garage. “Her” side. She Shed. We now call it “pool house.”

For the structure,
Charles widened the door frame from 28” to 48”; so does the window. It makes the room more bright and ventilated.

Charles purposely left one fourth of the attic open, where we can store some hide-away items like renovation material.

We reserved some space for storage in the back. We have our camping and sports gears, heavy winter clothes, and seasonal decoration on the shelf, and sleeping bags in a stand alone closet (which was a piece of furniture that we removed from our bedroom.)

We installed a pair of curtains (which we used to cover up our bedroom closet) to hide the storage area.

I love reuse or repurpose the existing items in the house. Our goal is to NOT spending extra on furnishing, so we moved a lot of furniture and accessories from the house. The sofa is our old brown microfiber sofa from our family room. I wanted a more nautical-like pool house, so I ordered these sofa covers to change the look. I was really surprised how good it turned out. It’s easy to put on. The color looks exactly what I expected. The material is water resistant so we don’t need to be worried if we sit down with our wet swimwear.

It’s not completely done but almost there. Here are some to-do-list:
* Insulation in the attic
* Install a barn door
Temporary Plywood door
* A new pair of the garage front doors
Some decoration on the wallRepaint the exterior wall

It became a popular space for all of us to enjoy. We already spent countless late afternoons and dinners together in the pool house. Especially for this time being, it is precious to be outside of the house and feel safe.
